prayers as we leave

We are to depart in 6 hours from yumi's house, and in 8 hours we will be on our airflight to chicago. from chicago we will catch a plane to russels/belgium, then to yaounde/cameroon. Things are crazy right now.

Please Pray for us! We definitely need it.

Andy:
I got rear-ended in a car yesterday and my back and neck are hurting (and are therefore causing a headache). it's a bit discouraging but it's confirmation that, if satan wants to pull me down right now before the trip, God will do great work in Cameroon while we are there.

also, i have a heat rash that is spreading from my stomach to my back and my neck. it's irritating but manageable.

We are leaving really early and the ability to think when tired is definitely a good asset while hopping planes...i do not have this ability (as to what i have experienced).

I am so bad at memorizing and we were designated skits to memorize. I have yet to begin looking at them. eek! Please pray for good preparation for our ministry.

Yumi:
Health-general
to be ready for vbs
to have an awesome 21st birthday...despite the smelly girl sitting next to her for two days straight (lol).

The team:
safe travel, continuing good health
people in cameroon-to be prepared to hear the gospel and have an open heart to our ministry.
good team work
good communication
energy and GOOD REST
god's guidance and protective hand over us.

Well, we are both very excited and exhausted from being excited. thank you for praying for us. I will try to keep things updated as best i can with the little internet availability i have through the young's. take care of america for us while we're gone!

LAH visit

LAH/Socal team visited Yumi and I this past weekend and we worked on team building together here in norcal. Kathy Chuman guided us through things such as possible team conflict while on the field and what to/not to do. I spent nearly all day saturday together, although it was a bummer that Yumi had to work until 6pm. We had dinner at Todd and Jayne Fong's house and the whole Chuman family joined us. I am very thankful for our friendships within and outside of our Cameroon team.

I think we are at 100% financial support. Please pray/continue to pray for Yumi, Myself, our team, and those already in Cameroon (such as the kids we will be ministering to and the Young's and their co-missionaries and friends).

We are awaiting the return of our visa paperwork, along with out passports to be sent back to us. It is only a few weeks...like 2...till our departure. EXCITING!

I posted pictures of this past weekend with LAH in norcal on my facebook, so you can check that our. also here are some for those of you who don't have FB:

95%

Hi everyone! yesterday we shared at FACC (fremont asian christian church). It was awesome and everyone was so nice. We talked to alot of people afterwards and it was an enjoyable time.

Yesterday, all I knew was that we were at 50%...but because a very generous and anonymous donation we are at 95%. I can't believe that God would put in someone's heart to donate so much, but it is for God's work in world missions. COOL!!!

LAH is visiting on june 21-22nd and will be at service that sunday. If you would like to meet them for a bit we might hit up lunch afterwards or just hang out and chat a bit. feel free to come to service: 10:45 at san lorenzo japanese christian church.

okdokie, thanks for your prayers. updates will be coming tomorrow. <3

5/13/08 prayer requests

So Yumi and I were FINALLY able to get together after two weeks of craziness.

Prayer requests:
-That Yumi can rest and get more sleep: school and work are a big load and studying takes up alot of time.
-health: Yumi and I are both dealing with health issues---still.... X_X, I have made an appt for next monday.
-Finals are next week (for ME).
-Yumi and I both need to get our immunizations but are both really really busy. it is hard to schedule an appt.
-We are at 25% financial support. YAY! God is good.
-"Be still and know that I am God". This verse really made me think this week.
-Yumi and I are sharing at walnut creek this sunday, please pray that we can be clear and not be nervous. That God can speak through us and touch the congregation. That God's will be done.

Thank you soOo much! I feel truly blessed.

God bless you!

Busy-ness is life?

Hi all! SO this week Yumi and I are not able to meet again due to conflicting schedules. But here are some prayer requests:

Please pray that:
-We are able to set dates at other churches to share, gain prayer warriorsm and gain financial support.
-That we can find quiet time to spend with God to prepare our hearts and minds for the Work he will have us do.
-People would understand that God loves ALL his children, and said to reach ALL nations; not just the one's who look like us or speak like us.
-Yumi and I can still spend time bonding and hanging out even though life is getting more busy.
-As finals quickly approach our tired brains, that we can do well in our classes, study without distraction, and do it all for our Lord. God is our strength, why do anything without doing it for a great and might purpose.
-Health; Yumi and I both are a bit unhealthy, probably a causal affect of college. Please help us to physically heal from stress, bad nutrition, and lack of sleep.

Thank you for praying for us, we really appreciate it. hopefully Yumi and I will be able to meet next week.

prayer requests 4/29/08

so, unfortunately I was not able to meet with Yumi and pray and talk because I had Jury Duty. My group was called and I had to come in. I would be fine with serving on a jury, just not while dealing with midterms, finals coming up, and having to miss school. I pretty much just sat there for like, 2 hourse doing nothing. but it was a good time for studying.

But n e ways, here are my prayer requests updated:
- praise God, we are about 1/7 the way on our financial support
- please pray that Yumi and I are able to continually tell more people and gain more prayer and financial support.
- We are trying to get dates to share at other churches, so please pray for quick responses.
- Yumi and I have to get our shots/immunizations and because of school and work and church ministries, we are having a difficult time finding a date to get them done. (eeek...i hate shots).
-Yumi and I have been a bit overwhelmed with school and (yumi balancing work, school, and church). Please pray that we can run the last bit of this semester with full strength and be fully dependent on the Lord.

Thank you for taking time to pray for us. We are soOo thankful for you! God Bless you!
